An unlimited heavy downpour of successful endeavors for Vijay Antony including his recent honor of fetching ‘Cannes Lions International Awards’ for the category of ‘Best Use of Music’. The musician has been delivering at least a trenchant piece on his every musical. Be it ‘Naaka Mukka’, ‘Aathicchudi’ and recent melodic hit ‘Aval Appadi’ from Angaadi Theru; he has been transfixing us with the best scores.
‘Ninaithale Inikkum’ has him scoring music for the lyrics of Annamalai, Kalai Kumar, Priyan, Sheba and Prabha.
When it comes to analyzing the tracks aren’t as catchy as in his previous albums. Well, you’ve a fast-beat peppy number, a sensuous song as well few melodies. Possibly, the song may get on well once they’re on the screens with fantastic cinematography of Balasubramaniam.
1. Azhagai Pookkuthe
Vocals: Prasanna, Janaki Iyer
Lyrics: Kalai Kumar
Starts off with fortepianos as prelude followed by simple beats and interestingly, we get to hear the running notes on pianos accompanying the voices. Janaki Iyer’s voice is completely mesmerizing with Prasanna best on his tracks. Although, the song is so melodious, it may take some time to capture the young masses. Moreover, the musical instruments dominate a lot on more parts.
2. Piyaa… Piyaa
Vocals: Vijay Antony and Chorus
Lyrics: Annamalai
A peppy-fangled ‘Gaana’ song with fast swing on the rhythm box! It carries the traces of Vijay Antony’s previous composition for ‘Kitta Neringi Vaada’ from ‘Dishyum’. Although, the song begins with clichéd intonation, it takes on well with the chorus of ‘Piyaa…. Piyaa’. For sure, the song has chances going for best pick in this album.
3. Nanbanai Paartha
Vocals: Benny Dayal and Chorus
Lyrics: Annamalai
Here’s the best singer ‘Benny Dayal’ and you know the results. Vijay Antony has turned-in the melodies with the style of ‘Stage Show’. Seems to be a song aired during the occasion of ‘College Day’ or ‘Farewell’… Annamalai’s lyrics on ‘Friendship’ are heart-touching. Vijay Antony has specifically used Live Drums with Cello and Violin played tremendously in between verses.
4. Sexy Lady
Lyrics: Priyan
Vocals: M.K. Balaji, Sheba, Maya, Ramya and Chorus.
This number goes completely paralleled to the previous songs. It’s a zippy item number with Prithviraj and Sakthi shaking legs with a Mumbai model. As in many Tamil songs, the rhythm-beats have been lifted from ’50 Cents’. Nothing impressive about lyrics and indeed the voices aren’t so attention-grabbing.
5. Kalloori
Voice: Sheba
Lyrics: Sheba and Chorus
An awe-inspiring vocalism by Sheba with herself penning lyrics for the small musical piece running just for 90secs…
6. Allah
Lyrics: Annamalai
Singers: Vijay Antony and Chorus
It’s one and only all about Vijay Antony’s trademark. A song of elatedness centering on the college students with fast-beats. His high-pitched voice with hard guitars and running beats makes the song more entertaining. The Highlighting part is fast-going lines of ‘Jigu…Jigu…Jigu’… The lyrical lines are about singing praises to God for endowing them with fantastic friends.
7. Naatkal Nagarnthu…
Lyrics: Prabha
Singers: Kaushik & Chorus
Sounds to be a theme song of turning back to the olden days of friendship with sweet and bitter memories of College life… ‘Ninaithale Inikkum’ – Down the memory lane.
Final Take:
As mentioned earlier, it may take some time for the songs to hit the top of charts. With continuous airings on Radio Stations, it may do some good business in audio markets later.
Verdict: Interesting tunes
