Suriya, Kollywood’s original romantic hero is now turning into a deadly daredevil!

Following the stupendous box-office success of Ayan, Suriya is slowly emerging as an action hero on the mould of a Jason Statham (The Transporter). Like Jason, Suriya too is doing all his stunt scenes in his films without using a duplicate.

For his K.S Ravikumar directed Udayanidhi Stalin produced Aadhavan during its climax scenes shot in Cape Town, South Africa Suriya was required to hang on to a chopper. Normally most heroes would prefer doing this dangerous shot using a dupe.

However according to a source present on the location: “ Suriya had to be propelled from the ground with the help of cables at an incredible speed to a height of about 150 feet in the air and hang on to the rails of the helicopter and he did it in the sixth take despite a hit on his shoulder!”

The man is a perfectionist; he would roll on the rough sand before every take to get the continuity shot of the dirt on the shirt correct. The source added: “During the Kolkatta, shoot of the film, he jumped off the highest bridge many times before the director’s ok for the shot. His passion and dedication is what makes his action scenes look so real on screen.”

However much before the release of the film, a few of his earlier Tamil films are getting dubbed into Hindi.

The first to hit the screens would be the Hindi dubbed version of his Dhil, which already has been remade as Dum with Vivek Oberoi in the lead. Next his other Dharani action masala Dhool with Jyothika is going to be dubbed.

All this will be followed likely by Maaja and Saamy whose heroines Asin and Trisha are in Bollywood!

Finally the big one Kanthaswamy with Shriya will have him dubbing in his own voice!

Eeram is produced by Shankar’s ‘S’ Pictures and is having its audio and trailer launch on August 9, Sunday morning at Sathyam Cinemas. Rajinikanth is going to be the chief guest at the function and Shankar says: “Rajinikanth is like my elder brother, without him no function in my family is complete.”

The lanky beautiful actress told a Mumbai tabloid: “I was done from the shoot and was returning back to my hotel. I was in the hotel car park waiting for the lift, when suddenly, I noticed 10 security guards forming human chains and ushering someone into the lift. As I entered the lift, all of them followed me with the person they walked in with. Sensing a sensitive issue, I asked the hotel security guy escorting them whether I shall take the next ride up but he said that it was okay.”

Sameera adds that the trouble started after that when she reached the main lobby floor and was moving out when all of a sudden, one of the security guys grabbed her arm and shoved her aside. Says Sameera: “I was shocked that someone had the audacity to manhandle me like that so I pulled his hand off me and asked him what the hell he was doing? He started shouting at me in Malay and when I screamed right back at him, he got aggressive. Another guard joined in and then, the whole situation got out of control, with both screaming and shouting. They tried to lift me bodily and throw me out of the lift, when the hotel guy finally intervened.”

Later she came to know that they were security guards of the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Sameera says she did not want to create a ruckus in a foreign land where she didn’t know the language and the brave girl that she is, says- “I was not scared or apprehensive but felt a bit proud that I had taken them on. No man can misbehave with me!”

Now Vikram will foray into Bollywood with Maniratnam’s Raavan.It is worth noting here that the remake of Dil in Hindi titled Dum with Vivek Oberoi in the lead was released earlier. Despite this fact the film is being dubbed in Hindi as per the distributors’ suggestion.

The film a big budget action entertainer is going to be produced by the leading production house AGS Entertainment.

Ajit was back in Chennai from Malaysia where he was shooting for Asal on Saturday. He will be meeting Anand later in the week to discuss the proposal and script.

However the grapevine has it that Tabu is the front runner but is asking a huge pay packet which is being worked out by producer Hitesh Jabak. Meanwhile Hansika Motwani the Sindhi girl who has done a few Telugu films will most probably be Dhanush’s heroine in the film.

Recently Dhanush was quoted saying: “I went and met the superstar not as his son-in-law but as Dhanush the actor and got his approval to do the remake”. Anyway, Dhanush has a winner in Mappillai which has a great title value as the real Mappillai (son-in-law) of Rajinikanth is the hero in the remake!
